We recognize that our newspaper is the main source of information about upcoming events. We also recognize that we have a public service responsibility to keep our readers informed. We also know thatthe only way we can continue to serve the public is to stay in business. And to stay in business we must make a profit somewhere. The only thing we have to sell is advertising. If we give that away free we obviously cannot make a profit, and thus cannot stay in business and provide the free services that we do. t, Some organizations contend that they are and thus cannot afford to advertise. The fact of the matter is that they cannot afford nol to advertise. ADVERTISING DOES NOT COST, IT PAYS! Our entire economy is based on the concept that advertising does indeed pay dividends, if you, or your organization, are sponsoring an event for which money is charged, you can substantially improve the success of that event by advertising. The extra participation which the advertising creates will usually far exceed the cost of the advertising. Therefore, we cannot continue to give free publicity to events that charge money, at least we cannot stay in business and provide that service free. Our policy is:, YOU CHARGE - WE CHARGE. If it costs money to participate in your event, we will charge you for the publicity. We do hope to continue to maintain a viable business in this community, but can only do so by charging for our reasonable services. MANTI MESSENGER - EPHRAIM ENTERPRISE Manti Messenger 35 S.
