With only two months to prepare, the Pageant Board did a masterful job with the decorations, staging, production number, and the contestants. It was surprisingly good, remarked one spectator. Six exceptionally pretty girls drew an unexpectedly large crowd to Manti High Schools auditorium. Those in attendance enjoyed good natured ribbing, light hearted banter, and emcee Justin Ludvigsons jokes in between the competition segments of the contest After all the judging was done and before the winner was announced. Mayor Curt Ludvigson offered the girls this advice, If you dont get a crown, dont feel bad I figure Im not going to get one! Whatever happens, remain friends. When Amy Steadman was crowned Miss Sterling 1994, it ap l - y Y.s::rj; 1 .I , V. ", peared that the other contestants took the Mayors advice to heart as they hugged and congratulated her warmly. Amys talent was an energetic Western Swing dance, which was performed with dance partner Eric Reid. Besides the crown, Amy will receive a scholarship to Snow College. First attendant Anna Jensen tugged the audiences heartstrings with her soulful rendition of On My Own ! from Les Miserables. Second attendant Mindy Steadman wowed the judges with her agile tumbling routine, set to music. Pam Greene was well deserving of the Miss Photogenic award as was evidenced in the unique slide presentation of the contestants, taking each one from babyhood through adolescence to their current level of beauty. For her talent, Pam performed a jazz dance to Black and White. Her costume also matched the title! Brandi Brown earned the enviable title of Miss Congeniality. Emcee and Pageant Committee member Diane Denton stated, The girls have all been so cooperative and supportive of each other, I wish we had six crowns so we could have six queens. Said Mayor Ludvigson, As well as this went off with as little time as they (the committee) had to prepare, well definitely do this again. 835-100- 1.
