Sat Check out our Crest Specials! m MM To whom it may concern: A couple of weeks ago, I received my bill for my auto insurance on my Ford pickup. The bill was for $272, up considerably from the last bill only 6 months ago. 1 called my agent, Lee Sorensen, at Farm Bureau, and he confirms that they did raise the rate a few dollars. At any rate, by the time you factor in the annual Farm Bureau dues of $45, it makes that premium close to $300, an exhorbitant amount, when you allow for the discounts already given, i.e.: multiple car, claim free, good old man, etc. etc. driver, Well, it made me so upset, I decided to check around and see what other rates are. After all, I have been paying my Farm Bureau bills for years now, I dont really know what they are doing for me. Well, we are really blessed in these little Sanpete towns, we have a goodly number of insurance agents, representing quite a number of insurance companies. I started calling and visiting in person their several offices. I asked for exactly the same coverage, so I could be sure of getting a fair comparison of rates. I got quotes of over a $100 more to $100 less! I couldnt believe it, what differences! I finally settled for a policy with Rick Bartholomew at Ephraim, representing the Hartford Insurance Co. His rate for the vehicle is exactly $200, almost $100 less for my premium. That means I am saving about $200 a year on only non-smoke- r, non-drinke- r, one vehicle! Yes sir, folks, it pays to shop, no matter how good the "old boy" you have for an agent is.
