If you are about to turn 18 or you are already 1 8, the best way to stay on Uncle Sams good side is to register with Selective Service. Its a federal law to register within 30 days of your 18th birthday. You also need to register to be eligible for certain benefits, such as federal student aid, job training, and AS Drama By: Pam Bailey , During March and April many students from Manti High School competed in speech and drama competitions. The speech team consists of 30 to 36 students who debate as well as perform prepared to see who would qualify to compete at state. Those who achieved in the upper half of the speeches, impromptu speeches, and a congressional forum. A tournament for Region 12 was held at Gunnison Valley High School on March 4th and 10th tournament, participants qualified to compete at the state tournament. This was held at Dixie College on March 20th and 21st. Manti High School brought home the second place trophy at the 1A2A State Championships. On March 24th and April 2nd, Manti competed in the Region 12 Drama Meet. These competitors participated in humorous interpretation, dramatic interpretation, mono-act- s, and pantomime, as well as a one-aplay. Manti s stunning one-aplay. All My Sons, took 1st place in the Region 12 competition and the team itself tied with Juab for the first place ct ct most federal employment. The students were Cashelle Kjar, Janice 31ackham, Erin Rassmussen, fenny Frame, Sandy Steadman, Nanette Sorenson, 'Cristin White, Sheleen Willmore, Trenton Young, Jed lassmussen, and Chris Kjar. It was held in Salt Lake City in he Hilton hotel. Over 900 students from various high ichools competed in many liferent events. Janice Balckham :ompeted in the Business Communication competition facing 7th out of about 0 students who took that test. Zrin Rassmussen, ended her 50-6- ith youre registration for state student aid, 3y: w you wait, the longer breaking the law. entrance to FBLA Drama places first Selective Service registrar at your school, so you can ask at the Principals office. Selective Service accepts late registrations, but the longer their one act and recieve forth in state. Gabe Hampton was awarded best actor and, Maren Pcverson was Region Best Actress. High School received a certificate for being an FBLA advisor for 15 years. Manti High School hat received an award every yeai for the last 1 5 years at this state conference. This is a great accomplishment because this competition is with all schoo in the state participating Gooc job to the kids whe participated. |
