Show Templar football starts on a right note With a home win over Richfield, and a Massacre at Moab. By: Brad Barton couple of goal-lin- e Hello my loyal readers. Its been a while since I shared my writing skills with you. But anyway, lets get down to the meat and potatoes, which is the beginning of a new season of Templars improved to and capped opening off their drive with a 4 1 yard TD scamper by Justin Stevenson. Brad Barton (no pun intended) also drilled the first extra point ofhis career to ff and same story, except this time Cy Tidwell and Brady Nielson each scored 2 touchdowns to lead the way to a 46-- 0 thumping of Grand. It was another stellar performance on offense, The first chapter of course is football, so lets begin.... McKay Anderson kick-o- 0, the next week went down to Moab to battle the Grand Red Devils. Basically, it was the Barts sports. scored 3 touchdowns, 2 on the ground and 1 on a pass reception to help lead the Manti Templars to a 38-- 0 pounding of the Richfield Wildcats, in the first night game ever held at Templar Field. It was never much of a game as Manti took the stands. With that win the defense, and special teams. Scott Barclay also scored a 35 ard TD on an interception when he read a poor screen (struggle for ball ends in Manti's favor) give the Templars a 7-- lead. 0 The Templars continued to crease their lead as Brady Nielson caught a bomb to extend the Templars in- 68-ya- lead to 14-- 0 rd after the 1st Quarter. In the 2nd Quarter, it as McKay Anderson time, as he scored 3 touchdowns in the period to help Manti extend their lead to 32-- 0 over the stunned Wildcats. In the 2nd half, Tyler Ashton added a 35- - Templar Volleyball yard scoring run to give the Templars the 38-- 0 ictory. It was the perfect ending to a stellar game by Manti. The defense also came up strong when the Wildcats ventured into Templar territory by getting a pass like a Sports Illustrated" magazine and took it to the promised land. McKay Anderson added his 4th touchdown of the year in the 2nd half, and Jake Williams scored on a 25 yard TD run that left the Red Devils wondering what hadjust mowed them over. The plans for the rest of the week are as follows- - Thursday there will be a pep assembly. Friday there will be a parade starting at one oclock, there will be an open house for the new gym at four oclock, the mascot will be revealed at four thirty and there will be a dedication at five o'clock. The tailgate party w ill be right before the game.starting at five thirty and the homecoming game against the Juab Wasps will begin at seven o'clock. The dance will be on Saturday starting at eight oclock and ending at midnight. The theme is You ought to be in pictures. The prices will be ten dollars per couple or six dollars stag. |
