The goal of this outreach pro Card of Thanks There is no way to put into words, not on paper the feelings of our family at this time, try as we may. We knew that when we came to this life we would be tested, and only God knows how. Our hearts are filled to overflowing with the goodness of the people who were involved in the search for Jimmy. We are very blessed to have a Sheriff and his department who are so dedicated to help those in the hour of their greatest need. Sheriff Claude Pickett, his deputies, dispathers Molly and Sheila were so efficient and professional, doing all that was required and then far above and beyond the call of duty. Our hearts are filled with appreciation and thankfulness that we, in this state and county, have people who at their own expense leave their jobs, their families, and take from their pockets the money to purchase everything they need to be of service anywhere to help their fellow man. This without the emotional drain, nor the physical part of it. There were a total of 2 1 6 man hours, 3 0 hours of dog search, 22 hours of boat use, just for the recovery of Jimmys body from the depths of Gunnison Reservoir. We wish to express our gratitude to everyone who has helped us in any way through this tragedy. We are so thankful that those people worked so hard and so long so that Jimmy was recovered that day, as terrible as it was. We can in no way ever begin to repay the debt we owe to each and every person involved. If you feel to contribute to the Search and Rescue, dog teams, or diving teams, in Jimmys memory, we know it wfill be appreciated. May God bless us all. It has truly helped in the healing process. We, as a family, knew we lived in a choice valley. To his friends and our friends, thank you. To his teachers, scout leaders, and church leaders for your hand in helping us raise him. Thank you to the Mormon Miracle Pageant for allowing him to strengthen his testimony. To Dr. Bosch at Snow College for helping Erik achieve his education goal, and through this blessing the lives of millions of people around the world through his work. They are often up in the w'ee hours of a hot summer day. They greet the sunrise with spade and weed digger in gloved hands and hat, usually straw, pushed firmly on the head. Some clench their teeth and go at the job with a determination usually reserved for mopping up a flooded basement or unplugging a clogged sink or bathroom fixture. The satisfaction they feel comes from w iping out those noxious weeds. Other blessed souls are out there to rejoice in the colors of the rising sun and breathe deeply of the cool morning air. They go about the job softly singing or whistling a tune. They bless the flowers, their fragrance and colors, and often, even bless the weeds which provide reason for them to stay among the blossoms longer. Both are rewarded with Gods precious gifts. He told Adam and Eve to tend and cherish the Garden and when they were expelled He challenged them with weeds and thorns among the roses, but they were also admonished to tend and cherish this garden as well. I dont dislike working in the yard. It is a wonderful place to think about my life and plan future projects.I do hate the weeds but I also love my bed and the idea of leaving it at such an awful hour is a thought I cannot get my body to heed. And so I get up when I can no longer stand my nagging conscience. I wander about the house, eat breakfast and finally convince myself that I can procrastinate no longer and I grab my sweat band, put on my gardening jeans and head for the tool bucket. My jeans are a picture of fashion and beauty even though theyre cut off at the knee where a stylish hole had worn through (much more comfortable in the heat that has descended at this late hour). Those jeans have developed another badge of fashion. My knees will not allow me to kneel on the hard, rough ground and I dont have the strength to bend oer, and so I do most of my gardening scooting along on my bottom. Jeans were not made for this kind of wear and so Ive had to add patches to this important area of the trousers. I put two patches on the outside of the first pair of jeans I mended. This is not a place I would recomand definitely do mend for patches which are not blend with the faded pants being recycled. A better choice for the second pair turned out to be ironing the patches to the inside. So far they havent worn through any cntical places. I do try to keep my flower beds weed free but the only real solution Ive found is to replace some of the space with lawn that Vem can mow w ith his riding mower. Then Ill plant as many low maintenance flowers as I can in other places where the grass will not intrude. When I finish this project, with a lot of help from Vem, I hope my perceived slothfulness will no longer plague me and I can enjoy my own flowers the way I have admired others in the community. Ive seen Gods garden in Hawaiis tropical forests and in Englands daffodil strewn roadways, in the deserts and mountains of the west and the mossy forests of the south. He tends most of these gardens Himself but must be so pleased when we lend a hand in the little space w here we live. 0 ight tips (throughout house) to feeling warm about winter.
