SAVE every coupon, box label, cap inner seals, tab, etc. SORT these into four groups: Food, Household Aids, Personal Aids, Misc. SPEND those coupons to best advantage. SEND for those cash refunds on a regular basis. The Christmas season is really here and so are all those great rebate offers. Be especially alert for them as they can save you from 20 to as much as 40 percent on the purchase price. Most of these are special rebates offered only at this time of year and are found mostly on small appliances and auto products. Today I bought my groceries for the next two weeks. Included in my purchases were Kelloggs Corn Flakes with an offer that allows me to get 12 pictures developed by Kodak for 79 cents. Enclosed with my prints will be a coupon good for $1 off any one of five Kelloggs cereals. This offer is good until Dec. 31, 1981, so I intend to take advantage of several of these and take lots of pictures during the holidays. Another offer for those of you who have little boys, is the toy offer on the package of C&H Sugar. This C&H, 23 2 inch offers you an You cant steel truck. get it by long Christmas this year, but it would make a terrific birthday gift or you could always save it for next year. At any rate, the expiration date on this truck (a $19.95 retail value for $12) is Dec. 31, 1980, so dont delay if you want to send for it. A lot of the food items you will buy to make special things for the holiday season have cents-of- f coupons on them. Be selective and try to buy as many of these in preference to those without them at this time. Items for Christmas baking are expensive enough but if you can get at least a coupon good towards your next purchase it will help. If you know you are going to use two or more of the same item, buy just one at a time that has a coupon on or inside of the package and include the second purchase of this same item on your next grocery list so you can use the coupon. If you are like I am you make more frequent trips to the store this time of year than usual or if you are up town shopping for gifts, it isnt too much trouble to make an extra trip or two to use any coupons you find in or on the items you buy. Here are some more letters from .readers with questions: SAVING SAVE, Y j : - ; BUILDING AN ALL CANDY HOUSE is a lol of work, according to creator Ann White, 2356 S. 1950 S., Syracuse. She spent over 30 hours putting this house together and used 30 pounds of candy holding it on with another 7 pounds of powdered sugar. She said when the holidays are over she will have a b'g party and let her children and her nieces and nephews eat the house, Everything is edible except the cardboard frame. Dear Jane: I save the proof of purchase seal on a product and now find two offers for the same product calling for different parts of the label, which I threw away. Why do they print a proof of purchase seal if they dont intend to use it? Reply: The manufacturer does intend to use it and other parts of the label too. : They are aware that many couponers ; find it difficult to save ail the label so as an incentive to get you to buy the product again, they will often ask for different parts of the label as a refund requirement. Or they may have two or more offers ; going for the same product So be a wise ; couponer and refunder and save all the ) label. You never know when you can use it and parts of it will always come in ; handy for swapping. How are your swapping clubs going? ; Hope you took my advice and got together with some of your neighbors and friends for this friendly practice. I ; know you will see much better results ' from your efforts to save if you do. . ' Please send any letters .These people really appreciate these items as on a limited budget they really make good use of them for items that they would otherwise be unable to buy.
