Many of these people can be saved with early diagnosis and prompt treatment, according to the American Cancer Sociey. A screening kit used to detect colorectal cancer is available through May 15 at several local pharmacies. The test kits are free of charge and are used in the privacy of ones own home. The test consists . of three specially prepared slides on which a person places three stool samples. The slides are tnan mailed to a laboratory where they are tested for blood.
