Even though school is out for the summer, the girls spend four hours each day at the school gym practicing and getting ready for the busy season The Lancelles will be leaving for Utah State University in Logan next week where they will attend a drill clinic. At the camp, they will take several classes in different aspects of drill. When they return home, they will incorporate the ideas they glean in Logan into new routines. On July 1, the camp will culminate with a competition between the drill teams attending. Most high schools in Utah have drill teams which attend the camp. Last year the Lancelles took first place in the competition. On July Fourth, the team will be in the Layton parade and will perform twice during the day's celebration; once at 1 p.m. on the baseball field at Layton High and again just before the fireworks display in the football stadium.
