The funds were raised through a dinner and dance, held at the Aerie in Layton. The money is sent to the national headquarters, and in return the locals receive grants from the Eagles Memorial Foundation, which administers the senior citizen-oriente- d Golden Eagle Fund. The national grant program began in 1974 as a gesture to libraries across the country for services to the elderly.
