Show lakeside Review, Wednesday, July 22, 1981 Optometrist Opens Office Dr. Scott D. Farrell has announced ROY the opening of his private office for the practice of optometry in the Herefordshire Professional Building at 1845 W. 4400 S., in Roy. He will specialize in contact lenses, general family vision care and vision for the partially sighted. Dr. Farrell is a graduate of Ogden High School. He attended Weber State College on an athletic scholarship in 1969 and graduated cum laude from the University of Utah in Spanish and psychology in 1975. He was on the deans list eight of nine quarters there. He attended the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, Calif., and graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1979. He has been in practice in Salt Lake City since his graduation. ' Kaysville Chamber 7-- S 9 Win Poster Contest I cant believe the talent in KAYSVILLE this room, said Gaylen Sprague, president of the Kaysville Chamber of Commerce, as he talked with the winners of the Krazy Days poster contest at a meeting July 15. There were 19 participants in the Chamber of Commerces second annual poster contest. They ranged in age from just barely 8 to 34. The posters they produced will be placed in area businesses by the chamber to advertise the events in the Krazy Days sidewalk sale July g. 1. Winners are listed from first to tenth place: Brad Shepherd, 14; Rachelle Peck, 9; Annette Hawkes, 34; Cheryl Card, 12; Jolene Card, 11; Tom Winward, 8; Heather Smith, 8; Heidi Huemiller, 13; Sharron Smith. . Special mention went to Vickie Warren, 12, and Kathy Carter. The winners include two pairs of relatives, sisters, Jolene and Cheryl Card, and a mother and daughter, Sharron and Heather Smith. Contest prizes, awarded at a meeting at Barnes Bank, were donated by local businesses. First prize winner, Brad Shepherd, received a pair of shoe skates donated by Barnes Bank. This is the second year that Brad has entered the contest. Brads mother, Donna Shepherd said that she was excited about the win. Other prizes were donated by First Security Bank, Kaysville Drug, Kaysville Theater, Clover Club Foods, Fran Brown 3c Co., Bowmans Market and Harrys Thriftway. While at the Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Farrell obtained a second bachelor of arts degree in vision science, he was a teaching assistant on campus and taught continuing education in Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy. He served his residency at the Los Angeles Veterans Hospital, Terminal Island Naval Shipyard Health Clinic, the Las Vegas Low Vision Rehabilitation Center, The Optometric Center of Los Angeles and The San Diego Childrens Hospital.
