Gary Ashley and Keith Crockett are top candidates for tail back, while Lance Jorgenson, Ben Tafoya, Mike Reske and Jeff Busby are battling for the wide receiver positions. Bart Hadley is back as tight-enfollowed by Nate Gallegos and David Mathews, Todd Taylor, Jim Verhall or Jason Wheelwright will handle the ball- snapping chores. In the offensive guard positions, there are Todd Watanabe, Ray Sanchez, Eddie Frerret, Kent Keoppel, Jeff Rogers, Derik Grange and Curtis Kennedy. Mark Eggington and Stewart Maclnnes are back to fill in as offensive tackles, while Ray Sanchez, Brian Wilcox, Terry Klomp, Bryce Johnson and Jason Lambert will be pushing hard to earn a position. The class of 82 is loaded with talent for every sport and many of the stars of last year are coming back with visions of winning it all this d, year. Coach Ernie Jacklin, now in his twelfth year at the helm of Roy High football, is not a stranger in winning a state championship. He won all the marbles in 1964, while coaching at North Summit in Coalville. Jacklin began his coaching career in Park City, before moving the next year to North Summit High School. He was at North Summit for seven years and then coached a year at Viewmont High School. In 1969, he was hired as head coach at Roy High kick-off- s record of School, where he has a r season at Roy took him to His second-in-stat- e in 1980. Coach Jacklins son, Wade, will be field general again this season. Wade won honors for Roy last year in leading his team to the Region 1 championship and second in state.
