ROY Roy City Council members agreed at their last meeting that the city should help with the lighting costs at Herefordshire subdivision. Several requests had been made from members of the Herefordshire Home Owners Association for assistance from the city for cost of electricity used for lighting in their subdivision. The association is now paying about $470 a month for street lighting. The association argued that the city provides lights for other planned residential communities and felt they were entitled to the same consideration. The City Council had at first refused the request stating that there were special considerations given to the developers of Herefordshire. Certain council members were wondering if an agreement had been made with the develop tights ers to have the Home Owners Association pay for street lighting in exchange for certain con- cessions by the city. Although exact records of agreements, between tiie city and developers of Herefordshire were not very complete it was determined that Herefordshire had chosen to furnish tights so that they could have a special kind of decorative street lighting to enhance the community and not as a concession or trade-of- f to the city, So Mayor Joseph Dawson charged the city attorney to draw up an agreement witii the Herefordshire Home Owners Association whereby the city would pay the equivalent cost of conventional street lighting that it would originally have provided to Herefordshire which the city figures to be 12 tights at a cost in electricity of about $110 a month. . mm mm LAYTON SHOP TONIGHT UNTIL 9 P.M.
