Nelsons chosen as Peach Days Honored Citizens Ferron has chosen as Peach Days Honored Citizens, Dennis E. and Claris Johnson Nelson, for the celebrations of the parents of six chddren: Dana Yonk of Cache Vadey, Bene Hatton of Kanosh, Jeanne Thorsted of Longmont, Colo., 2001. The Nelsons are both (now deceased), Bevan Nelson of Corrine, Lori Hunsaker of Brigham City, and Jude Nelson of Korea. Ad are codege graduates but only Julie is a teacher. The Nelsons have 24 retired educators and long time Ferron rebidents. They have touched the lives of many students and parents, and have made countless friends in Emery County. Dennis was born in Carbon County in the Miller Creek area. Of the 33 years he has been an educator, he served as superintendent of schools in three districts: six years in Park City, five years in Carbon County, and three years in Emery County. Claris was born in Moroni. She was a teacher for 16 grandchddren and 18 great grandchddren. The Nelsons have always been active in the LDS Church and served in many positions. They are members of the American Legion and Auxd-iarand the Emery County Historical Society and enjoy the activities of both organizations. Dennis served on the Ferron City Councd. Claris was the 1945 Peach Days Queen. He is the son of Monte and Sandra Gee. Corn dogs are his favorite food and his favorite color is blue. His favorite movie is Sandlot. The part of school she likes best is science. She enjoys many hobbies, including drawing and coloring, and soccer. Taryn loves to read. Misty has a 4.0 GPA at Canyon View, where her favorite classes are seminary and FACS. She is serving as CVJH Student Body President for Misty has many hobbies, including doing scrapbooks and participating in sports.
