Caring people you never see During a hospital stay you will see the doctor who treats you and answers your questions, the nurses who come to care for you and bring meals, medications and kindness. You will see some hospital personnel when you enter the hospital and when you are discharged. But many of those who care for you will never be seen. You will not see the plant engineer who makes sure the temperature of your room is constant and comfortable, the lab technician who assists with lab work and tests, the purchasing personnel who see that the supplies you need are there when you need them, the cooks and bakers who prepare your food; dietitians, night nurses, housekeepers. There are over 200 skilled positions in a modem hospital; most of them are not apparent to the average patient. All of these unseen workers are important to your care and treatment. All these people are a part of our primaiy mission: to help you get well. Caring is still giving you the best possible care.
