Show I By KEITH Dl'NCAN CLEARFIELD- -It started just like any ordinary prep wrestling duel but as it turned out you would have thought Bountiful and Clearfield were going to stage World War III right inside the Falcon gym. WHEN ALL the emotions were finally settled down and the mats had been rolled away for another day, the Falcons did emerge as the victor, Bountiful's Jeff Olson and Clearfield's Don Edwards quietly sent the meet into action in the 98 lbs. slot. Everything was normal because the heavily favored Edwards won 28-2- BUT AS each match was re- corded as histroy the tension between the two teams began tightening like a stretched I Badger and the Falcon's Jeff Evans. Badger hadn't been beaten before that match and he quickly tore into the junior wrestler from Clearfield. Chris mounted a big lead and it seemed just a matter of time before he would lay Evan's shoulders to the mat. BUT THAT'S when all heck broke loose. Badger and Evans locked tightly and was going for the stick when Evan's shoulder and arm w ere stretched a little too far which caused him a great deal of pain. THE MATCH was postponed for a few moments for Evans to recuperate. Once Jeff was ready he went back to the mat and was pinned just seconds later. As Badger came up his face as shedding some blood from under the left eye. He let loose some choice words to the official and accused Evans of hitting him in the face. w When Mike Funk scored a major decision on the Brave's Alan Schwab the tension was so thick you could reach out and cut it with a knife. THAT SET the stage for the confrontation with Chris 167 Shad Ragan of Clearfield puts the hex on Kent Crtolani. He beat him sophomore. 7-- 1 for his first varsity win.
