RICHARD SAG In the initial article of this senes on urinary tract infections in children we learned that the unne is normally free from bactena, and that the presence of many bactena in the unne define a urinary tract infection. RODEO WINNER Robyn Fielding, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Fielding, of Syracuse, is the 1981 High School Rodeo Association Break Away Roping Champion for Utah. 1981 high Robyn Fielding has earned top honois as the school rodeo association bieak auuv toping championship for Utah. SHE RIDES a horse named Beggar that was trained to rope and used by her sister, Cindy, who was also involved in rodeo. Robyn is the FFA Clearfield High School Chapter reporter. She is enrolled m programs that help her learn more about the judging aspects of horses. She is active in her church and maintains a 3.5 SHE EARNED this title by 4-- competing in high school rodeos held in various Utah communities through the year and by qualifying in these rodeos. A first, second or third place will carry points toward the state title. The Utah State High School Rodeo state-wid- e competition was held the third week in June in Heber City. Robyn received a third in the finals. This combined with the points she earned in qualifying rodeos made her the state champion. Robyn received a saddle for her efforts. grade point average in school. ROBYN LIKES training horses and teaching roping from the ground. Last year she received the Cowgirl title from the Spikers Rodeo Club. This honor was received because she earned more qualifying points than any other member of the club. These signs and symptoms depend upon the age of the child. The infant is typically the hardest to recognize an infection in. The reason is that there are rarely symptoms that arc easily referable to the unnary system. Two percent of school age girls have a urine infection without any symptoms. To diagnose these children, one must depend upon AS THE child becomes old- er, the signs tend to become more localized. There may be a change in the pattern of urinating. There may be an increased frequency of unnat-mg- , possibly associated with pan, while unnating. The color, clanty, or smell may change. There may be blood in the unne. Sometimes stomach pain and loss of appetite may be the only symptoms. Fever with chills and back tenderness are signs of possible kidney infection. problems w ith their kidnev s as they become older. fever without a specific cause must lead one to suspect the possibility of a unnary tract infection. or symptoms exist without an obvious cause, the possibility of a unnary tract abnormaility or infection exists and medical consultation is needed.
