Show i I Kiwanis: Art Festival THE LIONS Club The Layton Kiwanis Club meeting at the Main Street Station for their regular Saturday meeting. April 25 heard Lyle Eesley of the Layton Lions Club speak about the first annual Folk and Art Festival which will be coming up July is present- ly looking for sponsors for the 10 kilometer run and for other events. Booths will be set up on the Layton City Commons for artists to display and sell their work. A $15 fee will be charged for rental of each booth. Traditional musical groups are encouraged to contact the Lay ton Lions if they are interested in participating in the festival. 18. IT WILL be an program beginning with a 10 kilometer run at 8 a.m. It is a program and will be free to the public. Musical entertainment w ill fill the afternoon and evening hours. There will be bluegrass. jug bands, country and western, barbershop and other traditional groups, from 10 a m. to 9 p.m. There will be arts and crafts on display , games for children, and possibly other kinds of y family-orie- nted SECOND speaker also talked to the club. Jack White-sideretired automobile dealer and member of Layton Kiwanis delivered a travelogue on his recent trip to California. One of the highlights of his presentation was his description of his visit to the Rev. Robert Shulen's Crystal Cathedral in California. He was disappointed to learn that the weekly broadcasts from the Crystal Cathedral are and broadcasted a week after the events. EASTER ANDChristmas programs are broadcasted a year after the actual program. The cathedral cost $20 mil- video-tape- of glass. MR. WHITESIDES also visited the Will Rogers' estate at Beverly Hills. Calif. Will Rogers was responsible for introducing Tom Mix to horses and to the entertainment business.
