This year the Kiwams will work on the Da. improvement meeting. LC1A PRESIDENT, Lewis Macfarlane, expressed his desire to have cooperation and help among the civic and church groups in Layton. He believes different groups within the city can work together to bring about solutions to problems and to make the community a unified place to live. Among the plans for future activities in Layton discussed was the Lions Club's first folk festival. This will be held in the Layton Commons Park July 18. Different American folk crafts will be exhibited. There will be a variety of folk dancing and folk music. The Lions hope this w ill be their big charity activity for the year. major roads coming into Layton. Perhaps one large sign should be put somewhere in the city with a listing of civic clubs and their meeting times. The Lions Club was assigned the responsibility of finding out the city ordinances covering the placement of signs and the cost involved in this project. THE HERITAGE Museum is still soliciting acquisitions. The museum has purchased some shelving for the storage of artifacts that are donated. Recently, new interest has been generated in this club and the American Legion is not operating m Lav ton. It holds dances weekly at the post building, and the group will sponsor ten boys and three girls at the Utah Boys' and Girls State. THE MW AMS Club will sponsor young people at Boys The Layton Civic Arts Association plans to assist the Layton Hills Mall with its arts festival. Other activities the LCI A w ill host during the y ear includes entertainment during Riata Days and a Christmas home tour. The LCIA helped Layton High School promote its musical "Annie Get Your Gun." BEGINNING in April the LCI hopes to develop a monthly community calendar of activities. Information tor the calendar should be turned into Doneta Gatherum at by the last Wednesday of the month.
