He was born March 3. 1900 in Provo, a son of William Boyd and Victoria Johnson Passey. He lived in Provo. Salt Lake City and Ogden before moving to MR AND MRS. ROBERT STEED Layton some 33 years ago. In 1933 he married Gwenevere Clark in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Celebrates 50th Mr. and Mrs. Ronald J. Steed, 762 West 300 North. Clearfield, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Both he and Mrs. Garrett have been active in the activities of the LDS Church. Mr. Garrett has been a high priest group leader, served in the MIA while he was residing in Nephi. After leaving Death Valley, the Shooks traveled to Temple Bar, Ariz. on Lake Mead where they enjoyed fishing. They w ere again joined by Joe and Norma Preece who also were vacationing in Arizona. Last Monday, members of Delta Kappa Gammas Kappa Chapter traveled to the Aztec Apartments in Salt Lake City to hold their meeting. They installed new officers. Mrs. Emily Ashby received word of the arrival of a bom to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lever at Taylorsville on Feb. 10. She was named Kathryn. Miss Christine Winters has been convalescing at home from injuries in a accident last week. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Burton Winters. Vicky Van Hoff is confined to the Davis North Medical Center in Layton where she is seriously ill and undergoing treatment. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Van Hoff. Frank Parker attended the funeral service of Joe Howarth in Ogden on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lewis and children have returned from a week vacationing in Arizona and California. They visited former friends in Arizona and vacationed in San Diego and Anaheim, Calif, visiting Disneyland and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Hod Sanders have returned from a three 'week stay at their condominium in St. George, Don and Judy Hales of Movista, Calif., were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hales and his 'grandmother, Mrs. Mina Don is attending law school there. Before retiring, he was employed by the Utah State Highway Department. He also actively engaged in farming most of his life. He is a high priest and a home teacher ol the Clearfield Tenth Ward. MRS. STEED, the former Thelma Page, was born in West Layton and spent her youth there. She moved to Clearfield following her marriage. She is an active member of the LDS Church, having served in the Presidencies of the Relief Society. Primary and has been coordinator of the Junior Sunday School. She has also served as a Relief Society v isiting teacher for 45 years and a member of the West Valley DUP Camp. The Steeds are parents of a son and daughter. Stanley Steed of Clearfield and Mrs. Roy O. (Jencll) Layton of Kaysville. six grandchildren and ten vsb MR. PASSEY is active in the LDS Church. He was a member of the Layton Third Ward bishopric. He has held many positions in the church including many in the Sunday School organization. The Passey 's arc the parents of three children: Clark who lives in Lewiston. Ut.; Joel who lives in East Layton and Michelle Dransfield who lives in Bountiful. They have 13 grandchildren. MR. PASSEY worked as a dealer of government surplus materials for many years. He was an insurance agent. He retired seven y ears ago. The Passeys enjoy traveling. They have been to Hawaii. Europe and Russia. Yard work also keeps the Passeys active, dmg |
