On Feb. 12. park residents received a letter informing them they would have to negotiate a new park contract with the new owner through his park manager. The park rules were delivered to the tenants the following week. Residents of Lake-vieEstates say children w ith wagons filled with letters traveled through the park dropping the rental contract into resident mailboxes. THE NEW rental contract consists of 42 items. Some of the objectionable clauses include: The management has the right to turn off water and sewer connections: walkways and all free space belong to the park and cannot be freely used by the tenants: storage sheds affixed to the park cement slabs are the property of the park owners: sheds cannot be larger than 10x10 nor smaller than 6x6: all visitors to the park must be familiar with the terms of the contract and must abide by them: mobile home owners must repair their own sprinkling system and maintain the yard around their mobile home. Under the terms of this new contract, the only right a tenant has when he leases space in Lakeview Estates is the right to park his trailer, according to a tenant w ho has lived in this mobile home park for the past 4 years. THE PREMOIS owner required tenants to sign a lease that the people believed was reasonable. The only problem tenants had in the past was a promise of a swimming pool room that and a was never built. There was also a question about w ho was responsible for planting and maintaining grass and shrubbery. Residents w ho refuse to sign the new contract can be evicted three days after the March 31 deadline. multi-purpos- e RENT FOR all park tenants is due on March 5. Before this date, park residents hope to have a park committee organized to negotiate the terms of this contract with the park owners. Representatives from the pointed out the retaliatory measures could be legally taken by the management against any park committee member or any tenant who refused to sign this rental contract. THE MOBILE Home Owners Cooperative Association officials also pointed out to mobile home owners that the state of Utah has no laws protecting the rights of mobile home owners.
