Matheson as the special time to honor the states 800 SPECIAL GUEST speaker for the Sunday morning session was Ferdinand Demara, activities included the session that commenced early Saturday morning with Ann Grotegut, Ogden Police medical assistants, the unsung heroes of the health care profession. Mr. Demara was sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Richard Nilsson of Ogden and Dr. Jerald Nilsson of Good Samaritan Hospital in Anaheim, Calif., where he has for the past few years been chaplain. Warren Cook of Syracuse and husband of Mrs. Jayne Cook, was a special guest at the Saturday evening banquet and also gave the invocation, Department detective, who talked about the respon- sibility of the medical assistant in the touchy field of child abuse. Other speakers stressed the objectives of the association in upgrading the professional THESE WOMEN are everpresent in the offices of the physicians and surgeons, providing invaluable assistance in both administrative and clinical assignments. The highlight of the weeks observance came to a climax with the two day convention of the standards. There are 30 members of the group who have already attained the coveted level of certified medical assistant and others are studying to pass the difficult test for certification. American Association of Medical Assistants, Utah State Society, opened at Sherwood Hills, in Cache vsb County. The special guest of honor was Jean Mobley of Lubbock, Tex., who is the presidentelect of the national association. Presiding at the Utah convention was Mrs. Jayne Cook of Syracuse, long time medical assistant to Dr. William Schmidt of Ogden, and who is also the president of the state organization.
