LINELLE Rose, former LCIA president and member of the Layton Civic Arts Association, resigned her position because she is moving to Sandy. Mrs. Rose has been an LCIA member for four years. She has been very active in community porgrams. Mayor Shields complimented the LCIA on its efforts to correlate community projects. Mrs. Winnifred Garrett was hostess to the Bay View Club at her home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Dorothy Swan gave the program. Mrs. Zelda Robins entertained the Kaysville Bridge Club at her home Friday afternoon. Mrs. Zillah Butcher was hostess to the members of the Fine Arts Club at her home Tuesday evening. UNITED WAY Norman L. Beers, chairman of the Planning and Allocations Committee for the United Way of Davis County ' announced that allocations have been approved for the following local United Way Agencies: NORTH Davis Dental North Davis Home Health Agency, $588; North Davis Alcohol and Drug Services, $5,500; Hill Youth group $13,000; Davis County Information and Referral Service, $3,300; United Way Office in Farmington, $14,700. These allocations total Health, $4,300; $41,388. The v w ? Cancer American Society received $59,226 and the American Heart Association received $30,502 from the United Way Campaign in Weber, Box Elder, Morgan and north Davis County. MEMBERS of the Alloca- tions Committee from Davis are: lone Bennion, County , Clearfield; Gary Porter, Kaysville; Wayne Saltzgiver, Layton; Eldon Barlow, Clear- field; and Colonel James Bassett, HAFB. These five committee members served with other citizens from Weber, Box Elder and Morgan Counties in making allocations to 23 agencies. LAST YEAR 53 children were helped through the dental health program. The Al-- . cohol and Drug Agency couh-- . seled 265 people. Also 2,774 youth participated in a variety of programs offered by the Hill Youth group. - The Information and Si Referral program handled more than phone calls 7,000 for all of the county in 1978. This year for the first time the Home Health Care Program will be expanded to north Davis County. LARRY Burdett, executive director for United Way, said in regards to allocations that a question frequently asked by local leaders and contributors is How much of the money raised in north Davis stays in North Davis. Burdett indicated that 11 United Way Agencies located in Ogden provide services to Davis County. It is estimated that during 1979 that a total of $118,587 United dollars will be spent by agencies serving North Davis County. MR. BURDETT KAYSVILLE o LAYTON indicated that agency requests for funding from the United Way in 1979 exceeded the amount available to allocate by $136,878. It would be great to be able to raise the amount of money in a campaign to meet the needs of the agencies. We try to close the gap more and more each year.
