Miss Kathy Barlow, the granddaughter of Mrs. Violet Call, spent a couple of days staying in Layton this past week. Miss Barlow who lives in San Francisco, Calif., is attending the BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hamilton and their family traveled to Salt Lake Sunday afternoon to visit with their parents. Mrs. Virginia W. Barton of San Jose, Calif, died Jan. 24, 1979 in California after a long illness. Mrs. Barton will be remembered by many Davis High School students. She taught home economics at Davis for many years. Funeral services and burial were held in San Jose, Calif. Typical of the many Valentine parties was a four ward Disco dance held Tuesday evening in the Chapel Street LDS Stake Center. Teenagers from the four wards in the Layton East Stake enjoyed the decorations, the dancing and refreshments. By TOM BUSSELBERG - The CLEARFIELD Clearfield Job Corps Center has joined the ranks of institutions teaching students to fill the gaps in medical field positions. FOR THE past year, the Thiokol Corporation operated facility has offered courses in i health occupations ranging from instruction as an emergency medical technician to nurse assistant. Taught in cooperation with Westminster College, Salt Lake City, students gain a basic overall picture of medical fields through instruction encompassand ining lectures dividualized presentations. In Mrs. Gould says. We are still developing the current program but average students in each class. Sessions are held in the morning and afternoon. MOST STUDENTS spend half the day completing courses necessary to obtain their general education certificate. Its class and they can come and go as they need and work to their own ability, she says.
