Hazel Oldham arrived at the Utah installation a few days ago from Lockport, N.Y. where both were associated with the First Baptist Church. came to the United States, first to study at a seminary in Indianapolis and then to the Fastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the former squadron commander at Keesler AFB, Miss., completed his initial active duty tour, transferred to reserve status, and entered CHAPLAIN Oldham, a native of Staten Island, N.Y., entered on his second active duty tour with the Air Force on April 25. Now 29, he completed college at age 21, and although had already decided to enter the ministry, d felt that he needed experience with people before commencing theological studies. work-relate- From college ROTC, therefore, he first went on - duty in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972 and served as an administrative officer during most of that tour. Both parents are now in the United States, assisting on weekends in mission interpretations for the Baptist Mission in Ohio. AIR FORCE life is a new experience for the attractive chaplains wife. After she gains full citizenship ministers married on June and both young ministers served at the Lock-pochurch near Buffalo, where James was an associate pastor and where Hazel became officially ordained. Even in his civilian capacity, Chaplain Oldham was Air Force affiliated, first as a reserve information officer with the 9010th Air 14, 1975 rt Reserve Information Squadrom and later as reserve chaplain for a Niagara Falls Air Force reserve group. MRS. OLDHAMS home in the islands was founded by Baptist missionaries who built the hospitals, schools and churches. Her father, in another year she may join the Air Force herself - (thereby possibly making the Oldhams the first chaplain couple in uniform?) The couple drove west on vacation last summer and enjoyed national parks in Utah and Colorado, they commented.
