WHILE CHILD abuse knows no economic or social boundaries, it is most prevalent in low economic and metropolitan areas Mr. Mullen said. But in 1975, the latest year for which statistics are available, 365 cases of child abuse or neglect were reported in Davis County. Mr. Mullen said the actual cases are probably much higher since most instances are not reported. The child abuse team plan is to make the public more aware of the problem, Mr. Mullen said.
