BLODGETT Defiance, danger, boredom and money. WHAT DOES it add up to? Maybe a lot of things, but in this case its the day in the life of a flag girl. Yeah, its good work, good money and sometimes a lot of fun, echoed four gals who are doing flag work on the construction project west of Kaysville. BUT, in unison, they added almost the job is also dangerous and boring. We have to put up with a lot of guff from motorists. Its all part of the job. There are four to six gals working the central Davis County highway project, and of the four interviewed this week, all are real veterans. YOU MAY think as you drive past that they are on the job just because of the equal rights amendment. Not so. They have all earned their respective jobs. In fact, because of their seniority they feel they are sometimes "overlooked for certain jobs because they are females. THESE four gals have a toof 18 years in flagging experience on Utahs highway construction projects. Three have five years or more. The fourth has been on the job two years. : Its a little disgusting to have people think we are working just to fill a job, because of equal rights, said Shirley Asbury, Salt Lake City, who has five years experience. tal I WORK job, she because I love said. 1 the like working outside.
