Central Davis Jr. High held their farewell exercises Tuesday, May 25, 1976 at the Lay-to- n High School auditorium. all-arou- On Friday, May 14, in the kayton High Auditorium, Central Davis Junior High held its Awards Assembly to give recognition to those who made special yhad J achievements during the past year. ; Awards were given out in ;the fields of Homemaking, Industrial Arts, English, Foreign Language, Science, Music, Journalism, and .Athletics. Certificates were also given out for perfect at tendance and to members of sthe Honor Society and Student (Council. SOME of the top awards went to Janet Endo for being the top homemaker; Tom Day for woodworking; and Dale Ford for journalism. In the Athletic Department, awards were given to those who had done the best in their sport. IN GIRLS sports the following girls were selected as the best in their sport: Dixie Gates, volleyball; Tricia Dansie, a seventh grader, track; Joy Petro, basketball; Lisa Sheffield, gymnastics; and the all- - around girl athlete was Dixie Gates. In boys sports the following were chosen as the best in their sports: Kevin Moss, football; Kerry Roberts, baseball; Brandon Flint, Guest speaker for the program was David Hill. In attendance on the stand was Mr. William G. Warren, principal; James J. Abate, The first place winner of the Award was Tracy Chatwin with Angie Kolendrionas, 2nd; Dale Ford, 3rd; Ellen Dibble, 4th; and Branda Kruger, 5th. basketball; Doug Littlefield and Ricky Rivera, wrestling; Willy Ferneau and Ronnie Cooper, track; and as the boy athlete, Brandon Flint. THE HIGHLIGHT of the assembly was the presentation of the Noall Z. Tanner Award by Mrs. Tanner and OTHER events which took place were the swearing in of next years studentbody, 9th grade and 8th grade officers and the presentation of the Honor Society gift which was $50 to be given to the library.
