There are too many names of singers to mention everyone, but they all drew big, applause from the packed Moroni Opera House crowd. Second, I stayed out of the mountains over the weekend. There were lots situations. As usual Saturday, I could hear gun shots from the mountains throughout the day from my backyard. I suppose that there were a good number of elusive bucks "harvested." I wondered if all the precautions that the Division of Wildlife Resources has come out with in regards to that chronic wasting disease, that some of the enthusiasm for hunting would be diminished. One is to try to understand the gossip that we all feel in the small community that we live in and second, to apologize to anyone that I may have done this to myself. L am so very sorry. I will tell you all that I feel that it is very sad that we have nothing better to do in our lives except gossip and make up stories about our beloved friends and neighbors. Even if the story has some truth to it, by the time it gets back to the person being talked about, it is so twisted that it is nowhere near the truth. You would think that in the small community we live in that we would be watching out for each other and not talking about each other, behind each others back. I love living in this small town and I am glad to have my home and business here and being part of the community. I only wish fhatf'the people who said that '"they would .watch outs for our family and be our friends had meant it. I do know that the people who know us and know what kind of people we are know the truth or know to go to the source for the truth. I think that deep down, we are all good people; some just show it a little differently than others. I guess what I am trying to say is, "If you have nothing better to do with your lives than talk about your friends and neighbors, just stop and think about what others might be saying about you." It is a moral choice that each one of us must make each and every time we open our mouths. When we talk about one another behind the others back, it betrays a confidence. "A man who lacks judge- ment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue. A gossip betrays confidence but a trustworthy man keeps a secret." (Proverbs 11:12-13- ) I hope the next time we want to talk about someone we dont know the facts about, let us all stand up for our friends and neighbors. I know that I will do my very best to do so. Who knows, we just might be a better community. Christine Boudreau, Mt.
