D- C- Chris Cannon, Utah Republican J.S. representative, was successful in securing continued Title I funding for Utah schools. Cannon directly spoke on the floor of the House stressing the importance of the bill and the harm that would be caused by cubing funds from Utah schools. Title I funding was in jeopardy of being cut as a result of demographic requirements that are impossible for most Utah school districts to achieve, simply because of their small size.
