City council members said that payment for the line would have to be made before the lines could be built. Cost to each home would be $2,300 then the first portion of the line, which includes four homes, would each pay $17,700 and the second portion of the line, for two homes, would be $9,926. Von Mellor, city employee, expressed concern that the power line would be sufficient for now but should be upgraded for any more homes that wish to hook into the line. the council decided to table the item and discuss it at a work meeting. ATV route No action was taken on the new proposed ATV Route Orditherefore the current nance 99-ordinance of no ATV use on city streets will still be followed. One citizen who was not totally opposed to the ordinance 1, expressed concern about part of the ordinance stating the she felt that eight years old was too young to be allowed to operate an ATV, that all operators should have a valid drivers license. She stated that she felt dirt bikes should not be allowed believing the tires are not safe for pavement, noisy and are not usually handled responsibly. Two citizens stated they were in favor of the ordinance only because they wanted to use them for farm work. Council members explained that if the ATV is licensed for husbandry they are already v .owed to use them. Author Cities announce council candidates speaks at assembly gj Jensen, Seth N. Owens, and C. It was decided that the power line would not be upgraded at this time but anyone else hooking up to it may have to pay to upsize it. Councilman Neil Sorensen had some concerns about allowing too many power and water hookups outside city limits. Mayor Robert Allred explained that Sunrise Engineering had already done a study on the water and concluded that with the new water system installed that the city could provide water to every building lot in the city plus 15 percent more for homes outside city limits. Mayor Allred further stated that Utah Power and Light lines are getting closer to city limits and when this is feasible they will buy the lines from the city and would be responsible to provide power to these homes.
