Show Citizen Task Force follows drug convictions GUNNISO- N- The Sanpete Drug Task Force has researched the outcome of drug offenses in an effort to curtail drug dealers and users in the county. The following information is for drug related court Citizen action. Ilollie Allen Hollie L. Allen, Murray, was arrested Jan. 8, in Gunnison, by Gunnison City Police for possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia and marijuana. Allen pleaded guilty to illegal possession of controlled substance, and was sentenced on July 21, to zero to five years in the Utah State Prison. Allen was fined $2,500, suspended; 24 months of probation; 20 days in Sanpete County Jail and a $625 fine with plus conditions. David Peters David A. Peters. Lehi, was arrested Jan. 18, in Mt. Pleasant for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Peters appeared May 3, and pleaded guilty of possession of a controlled substance, and sentenced to zero to five years in prison, which was suspended. He was sentenced to probation for 24 months, with no fine. Peters is to serve 69 days in Sanpete County Jail, plus conditions. - Eric Christiansen Eric J. Christiansen. Mt. Pleasant, was charged on Feb. 2, in a Mt. Pleasant incident. Charges were dismissed on April 22. Lee Greenhalgh Lee Greenhalgh, Ephraim, was arrested Feb. 7, on State Road 89, at mile marker 35, by Sanpete County Sheriffs Department for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Greenhalgh entered a change of plea on Aug. 4, to amended and charges of paraphernalia, sentenced Aug. 6, to six months in Sanpete County Jail, which was suspended. Greenhalgh was fined $1,850. suspended except $555, with one year probation. Belinda Scow All charges were dismissed against Belinda Scow in a March 10 Mt. Pleasant, Wales incident. Spencer Rees Spencer Garth Rees, Ephraim, was arrested April 24. in Ephraim, by the Ephraim police. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, alcohol by under age person, and marijuana. Rees pleaded guilty June 30, to one count of illegal of controlled substance, and usepossession of drug paraphernalia. Other charges were dismissed. He was sentenced Aug. 12 to one year in Sanpete County Jail, with 350 days suspended, fined $2,500 with $1,750 suspended and one year probation. posses-sionu- se Prominent Ephraim businessman Eph- raim businessman Hart Kyle "Bud" Sanders recently passed battle with away, after a leukemia. Hart was the manager of Christiansen Furniture, Ephraim, for 52 years, and was of 15-ye- ar er Christiansen Furniture, Richfield. He was active in civic affairs and served the Lions Club .as president and in other offices. He helped pioneer the Lions Club Boys Baseball Tournament as a fund raiser for Snow College scholarships. He served on the Ephraim City Council, library board, and Ephraim Square board, where he helped raise money and plan the restoration of the Co-o- p Building, Art Center and Pioneer Park, f Sanders was an active member of the LDS Church serving for over 10 years as financial clerk, under three bishoprics. He also served as LDS stake auditor, president and assistant in two High Priest groups, and president and counselor in three Young Men MIA groups. He loved baseball and tennis and coached several teams. great-grandchil- d. CUCC to meet 523-741- Clint Dase Clint Ross Dase. Mt. Pleasant, was arrested by Sanpete County Sheriffs Department on April 19, in Manti. He was booked and released for court on possession of controlled substance, metham- phetamine. Dase pleaded guilty on June 2, to amended charge of attempted illegal possession and use of controlled substance. He was sentenced on July 14. to 30 days in jail, suspended. He was fined $4,625 with $3,625 suspended and one year probation. Robert Ferguson Robert William Ferguson, West Valley City, was arrested in Gunnison, by the Gunnison City police on June 12, for possession ot methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of maridenied paraphernalia, juana, drivers license, expired registration and no insurance. He pleaded guilty July 21 to illegal possessionuse of controlled substance, other charges were dismissed. He was sentenced to zero to five years in Utah State Prison, which was suspended. Ferguson was fined $5,000, suspended, and 24 months probation. He will complete treatment program in lieu of fine. Andrew Snell Andrew Snell, had two different arrests. He was arrested Jan. 18, on charges of attempted possession of a controlled sub- 18. to one year jail time to be served concurrent with two zero to five year prison sentences m other cases. He was fined $4.-625, suspended. Snell was also arrested March 10, and convicted of illegal possessionuse of controlled substance. a third degree felony. He was sentenced to zero to five years in Utah State Prison and fined $9,250. Jessica Snell Jessica R. Snell, was arrested March 10, for possession of drug paraphernalia, tw'o counts of possession of marijuana, and possession of methamphetamine. Fair-vie- Pageant succumbs to leukemia EPHRAI- M- Prominent Jared Goodrich Collin MANT- I- Performances for the 2000 Mormon Miracle Pageant will be held June 22, 23, 24 and June 27 through July 1, one week later than originally planned, according to a press release from the Mormon Miracle Pageant Presidency and Director. Auditions will be held from 7 to 10 p.m.. May 31 and June 1, 2000. Call backs will be by appointment on June 2 and 3. Seely four-month-o- ld Great-grandpare- nts The role of sheep ranchers in Sanpete County will be commemorated with an original, 8 foot tall, bronze sculpture, commissioned by the Great Western Heritage foundation, with the support of the Sanpete County Heritage Council. The sculpture will be displayed in downtown Mt. Pleasant and unveiled sometime this fall. Smaller statues and an engraved plaque will be given to those making a substantial donation. |
