Show Youth get council nod for skateboardrollerblade park Chad Larsen talked to Jim Allred of Horseshoe Irrigation Co. about the automatic structure to help with the overflow of water that comes through town in the creek. SPRING CIT- Y- City council members gave a nod of approval to youth that proposed the of a skateboardrollerblade park to be located on city property in a Dec. 4 meeting. Council members commended the youth on their out plan for construction and maintenance of the park believing it will be beneficial to all youth. The city will provide the use of city property located by the church and liability. The department would like a key to the yard so trucks can be kept full of gas. The State Fire Marshal stated -- that everything looks good but that fire hydrants be recommends I 500 feet apart instead of 1,000. He said that the trailer court needs more hydrants, which the ..new water project should alleviate. It was reported that Fire Department volunteers need to be shown as city employees so they are covered with insurance in case they are hurt while putting out a fire. Mayor Allred said he believed they were covered. The department is trying to get a matching grant to help get smoke detectors in every home.
