HART has initiated projects in Russia and Africa delivering $1.5 million in needed medicines and supplies over the past four years. On Dec. 26 through Jan. 10, a group of 15 students, include Ure, will go to Africa to help HART. Ure said all students and doctors that go to Africa must pay their own way, which costs around $2,000. "The time in Ghana is very structured, so it is really beneficial," Ure commented. He said that part of the time they work on a program call Outreach, by traveling to different villages to teach about the Buruli Ulcer, nicknamed the "new leprosy", and to do screenings. They also use their time to do normal service projects like painting hospitals and schools. The students also work in surgery with doctors.
