Call Linda 462-022- OC15SL Valois Bostrom MT. PLEASANT-Winifr- ed Valois Smith Bostrom passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where she has resided since 1985. She was born Oct. 6. 1901, to Robert Smith Love Winifred married She Joseph A. Bostrom Oct. 20, 1934. He died in 1978. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a longtime k resident of East and the old Evergreen Ward. Although she had no children of her own, she was known as "Aunt Valois" to everyone. Her mother died when she was four years old and she was raised by her aunt, Margaret Anne Cook. As a young woman she worked as a telephone operator. She was loved by all for her sense of humor and her infectious laugh. She delighted everyone by quoting poetry and singing songs she remembered from her youth. Her keen mind allowed her to almost always win a scrabble game, work a crossword puzzle, play her harmonica or sing a song in the German language. Her brothers, Bert and Dave, and her sister Margaret preceded her in death. Ralph and LaRae Pitts and family are her only surviving relatives. A viewing and graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 5, and Monday, Oct. 6, at Russon Brothers Mortuary and Wasatch Lawn. Burial at Wasatch Lawn in Salt Lake City under the direction of Russon and Smith. Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He was born April 21, 1924, in Spring City, Utah to Lynn Sidney and Jennie Watson Barney. He married Betty Stansfield on November 6, 1947, in Salt Lake City. He graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and with the National Guard in the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of both the V.F.W. and the D.A.V. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He is survived by two two sons, daughters, Sidney I. and William D.; two daughters, Elizabeth M. Hill and Mrs. Wayne (Sherrie) Dill; one brother. LaMar Barney, Provo; and one sister, Bernice Ericksen, Spring City; eight grandchildren, Nickie Hill, Mrs. Darrell (Calli) Oldroyd, William (Andy) Hill, Charlie Hill, Mrs. Robert (Sandy) DeLisle, Vaughn Barney Mrs. Jonathan (Aimee) Boren, Leroy King, Jennifer (Jem) Dill; five Kayla Hansen, Marissa Scales, Jade Oldroyd, Maurine Oldroyd and Mark Allen DeLisle. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, one brother and three sisters. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 6, 1997, in the Mt. Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward. She was the grand marshal of the July 4. 1997. parade in Mt. Iva Pleasant. retired from Osborne Apparel Company, where she worked for many years. Iva is survived by three sons: Clair Truscott of Plain City, UT; Kenneth D. (Adele) Truscott of St. George. UT; Clark N Truscott of Mt. Pleasant; 1 five grandchildren. She was raised in Fairview and lived and reared her family in Mt. Pleasant. Member of the LDS Church, where she held various positions. She was employed at many main street businesses for over 25 years, most recently at the Country Squire for 1 1 of those years.
