These items were carried over until a later meeting. SPRING CIT- Y- Heidi Anderson was sustained as city recorder on a trial basis at the Sept. 5 city council meeting. The voting was unanimous with the exception of Cynthia Allred who abstained from voting due to Anderson being related to her. Mayor Robert Allred requested more time to talk to other prospective applicants for the Planning and Zoning Committee and will give his suggestions at the Sept. 26 special council meeting. Mayor Allred will talk with three individuals about a part- - full-tim- six-mon- th A Formal Request for Annexation of the Alger property was presented to Planning and Zoning through Dave Allred. The committee will meet to discuss the annexation and have an answer to the request to the council by their public hearing on Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. The council is expect- - ed to make their decision at that: time. v The Reconnections' Utility Policy dated May 1996 was adopted by a unanimous vote. The council approved a motion by Gary Parnell to accept the? Subdivision Packer pending attorneys approval except Lot number 1, which needs approval from the Variance Committee. Two town meetings were sc- -' heduled: Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. will be for persons under 18 years of age. Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. is a meeting for individuals 18 and older.' The council also discussed a town newsletter that they would like to have out before the town meetings. A contract was issued to Maple Leaf to state what the city expects from them on the water project. Lines have been run with the exception of four or five Noyes building to be remodeled by Dean ODriscoll In a recent EPHRAIspeech to Snow College employ- M- i ; ees, President Gerald Day outlined recent changes to the campus and the extensive renovation of the Noyes Building. Although its technically just a , remodeling job on the Noyes Building, the structure will be stripped from the inside until all thats left is basically the brick and rock structure. The new building will have four floors instead of the current three. This will add thousands of square feet of usable space to the building that was erected over 90 ' years ago. The construction could school in time for be completed to start in the fall of 1998. Employees and students alike have to walk a little extra to get around the construction sites and will have to make friends with the dirt and mud that goes with it. However, the results of the construction are anticipated with great excitement as the face of Snow College changes once again. homes which should be connected shortly. Johnson and Kent Kummer attended the UAMPS meeting where Kummer won Most Improved Electrical System. Chad Larsen will make the change on the Hazardous Waste Proposal and bring it to the council. A list of available emergency equipment will be put into writing for use in emergency preparedness. The mayor had sprinkler system bids for the council consideration. The updated agreement from TCI Cable was received. Cynthia Allred will contact them to find out the status of the suggestions made by the council before the agreement will be signed. A public hearing is scheduled for Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. with a special meeting on annexation and the new planning and zoning committee member discussion to follow at 7 p.m. Cook takes first place in bareback CEDAR CIT Spencer Cook, son of Tracy ana Marian Cook, Moroni, took first place in bare-bac- k at the high school rodeo competition held here last Friday. Winners of the Sanpete County Farm Bureau Talent Find Contest held Aug. 26, at Manti High School are: first place in the senior division for their vocal duet (left to right) Jacob Christensen, son of Rick and Julie Christensen, and Erika Frischknecht, daughter of Steve and Kathy Frischknecht, all of Manti. ; ; Marlene Lamb and Mark Oakley, employees of the new Moroni Feed Hardware Store, are preparing for the grand opening scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28. The new facility is on the Feed Mill Road.
