It took several innings for the Badgers to battle back. John Eyre came on in relief to get the win and again Hanseens' hitting and some double plays handed the Badgers an important regular season win. All in all the Badgers turned 12 double plays in the three days that they faced Ricks, UVSC and CEU. Tom Nunley's Truck Sales Bingham scattered five hits went the distance on the mound to pick up the win for Snow College. Koch went 4 and Robin Peterson went 4 with three doubles to provide the scoring. The seventh inning served the death toll again for UVSC as the Badgers put the game away with a homerun. With the Badgers trailing going into the fourth inning Jaynette Dodds came in for Katy Christensen who wasnt feeling well and promptly placed a over the outfield fence to put Snow College on top The Badgers added another run to make it 1 before UVSC tied the game at 3 going into the seventh inning. That was the wake up call for Snow as they scored five runs on six hits highlighted by a three-ru- n home run by Dodds. The Lady Badgers will be on the road this weekend to play in and Ephraim seniors EPHRAIM Again the Badgers got some help from the mound as Jason Barker went the distance for the 4-- 3 win. It was a win even if it wasnt textbook. Barker was in trouble several times with no outs and runners in scoring position. It was then that he took matters into his own hands and struck out the side. the Badgers came Again through with some timely hitting to get just enough runs and defense came through to hold out for the win. said Andersen. The Badgers split with Utah Valley State College (UVSC) 3 on Friday in Orem and and then came home to sweep the College of Eastern Utah (CEU) 3 and 4 on Saturday. The four losses Wednesday and Thursday against the College of Southern Idaho and Ricks College were just more tune-u- p games for head coach Robert Andersen. "Im sure there were people that saw us play against CSI and Ricks that thought we were going to be lucky to wir, a game this entire season," said Andersen. "People just have a hard time understanding that I have to play a lot of people and I dont get all upset if we dont win games. "The games that meant something to this team were Friday and Saturday and we won three out of four." The Badgers won their first game of the regular season behind the complete game pitching of Ben Byrd and the timely hitting of Ty Hanseen. "We have been struggling a bit with our game and we werent as smooth as I wouldve liked in those games against CSI and Ricks," said Andersen. "But I knew this team was too good to lose five straight. " Snow put it all together to get the first league win under their belt and prove that they will be a team to contend with. The second game got out of control before the Badgers had a chance to savor their first win.
