PLEASANT- - An open house Weddings, Anniversaries yW4il, honoring Claris Stevens on her 80th birthday will be held Saturday, June 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Blue Room of City Hall. Everyone is invited. No gifts please. Mrs. Stevens was born June 21, 1907, in Ephraim, to Peter and Mena Mortenson. She attended Ephraim schools graduating from Snow College and University of Utah. She married Arnold Stevens in the Manti LDS Temple. They are the parents of three Dingmans to note 50th anniversary with open house FAIRVIEW- - Roy and Gwen Dingman invite friends and relatives to an informal open house at their mountain home, Saturday, June 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. to help celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married February 4, 1937. They are the parents of seven children, Larry and Craig Dingman, both living in Vernal; Norman Dingman, Huntington; Ethelynn Johnson, Denver, CO; Hazel Monzingo and Bill (Layne) Dingman, Grand Junction, CO; Mary Thompson, Lubbock, TX. Rov Dingman a v. rstf jr7 Couple to be feted on Golden wedding " FISHLAKE- - An open house will honor the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Gleave and Velda Peterson, of St. George. It will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at the Fishlake Lodge Ballroom. Mrs. Peterson, is the former Velda Aiken, of Spring City. The Petersons were Manti Temple workers while living in Redmond. They have lived in Redmond, Las Vegas and St. George during their married life. They are the parents of four children, 18 grandchildren, and two Gleave, Velda Peterson Janie Thompson to speak at mothers-daughter- MT. PLEASANT- - Janie Thompson, director of touring performing arts for Brigham Young University for over 24 years, will be the featured speaker at the annual mother-daughte- r social sponsored by the Mt. Pleasant LDS Stake on Friday, June 26. Reservations for the event are needed by June 19. According to members of the stake Relief Society presidency, those planning to attend the social should contact their individual ward Relief Society presidents who will then report a head county of her ward to a member of the stake Relief Society presidency or Instructors finish course part-tim- The mother, daughter social will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the stake center. Although Thompson retired officially in 1984, she still works at e BYU on speial assignments. Some of her more recent work includes staging a production number spotlighting the BYU football team in connection with the 1984 Holiday Bowl and producing a family show for Campus Education Week at BYU in 1985. She organizes choruses for Church gatherings ranging from meetings of General Authorities, mission presidents, and regional representatives. She also MT. PLEASANT- - Shirece Hone and Linda Burr, both Fairview, have just returned from Phoenix, AZ, where they graduated from the Diet Center training seminar for weight loss conseling. By successful completion of this training they are qualified in all respects as a certified Diet Center weight loss counselor. Mel Pritchett will be honored on his 80th birthday at an open house to be held at the home of Stanford W. and Connie King, 316 Eastlane (316 N. 50 E.) Friends and family are invited to visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20 The family requests no gifts. Mel was born in Fairview, June 24, 1907. His wife is Lois Watson Pritchett, of Spring City. Their family includes M. Jed Pritchett and his wife, Jacqueline Hayward, Stanford W. King and his and B. wife, Connie Pritchett, Michael Pritchett and his wife, Patricia Sunderland, 12 grandchildren and 14 Mel retired as president of Pritchett Construction Company in Senior citizens SPRING CITY- - The Senior Citizens will have a bus trip to the Intermountain Power military bases in the Pacific. BYU performing group tours have since taken her throughout North and South American, Europe and Asia. As organizer and artistic director of the Lamanite Generation, she has been called one of the greatest Lamanite missionaries in the LDS Church. That group was organized in 1971 as part of a missionary effort for the Southwest Indian Mission. The Stake Mother, Daughter Social is under the direction of the Stake Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations. All women are invited, according to the stake Relief Society presidency. No age limits have been placed on children sattending. Mothers are being asked to use their' own judgement if they feel their young daughters are able to sit through a dinner and program. Ms. Durham was one of the guest speakers at Snow Colleges series of speakers on this subject. This is a film of her speech which covers the legal aspects and rights women have. Screening clinics by health care professionals will be held free of charge for those 18 and older. Blood pressure, height and weight, visual and glaucoma screening will be held.
