Show Sanpete lady bowlers honored in state meet OGDEN Sanpete Lady Keglers made an impressive showing at the recent Utah Womens Bowling Association Championship Tour- nament bringing home a total of $961.60 in prize money. Placing first in the Doubles Handicap were Christie Bunnell and from both Helen Sutliff, Spring City, who recieved their trophies and prize money at the banquet May 11 in Ogden. This is the second time Sanpete Lady bowlers have won first place in the doubles event since 1962. Out of 2600 women who bowled five weekends in Ogden and Brigham City, several Sanpeters placed. They include: Team Handicap, 48th place, Nays Backhoe, Becky Nay, Nancy Larsen, Arlene Emmett, Cindy Shelley, and Janice Nelson. Thompson, Ephraim, tied for second and third with 65; Kim Robinson, Salina, fourth, 68; and Cecil Cox, Manti, and Wayne Peterson, Salina, tieing for fifth place with 69. Senior citizens PLEASAN- T- The semimonthly meeting of the Mt. Pleasant Senior Citizens will be held at the center tonight, May 15, at 7 p.m. Sandwiches and apple cider will be served with Ron Shelley and George Litteral presenting a singing program. Walker who had been pitching for the Hawks saved the game when his David Ramsey and Fernando Nielsen. It was the second homer of the day for the Hawk pitcher. Christy Bunnell and Helen Sutliff, both of Spring City, were the doubles handicap first place winners in the Utah Women's Bowling Association tournament held recently in Ogden and Logan. Wasatch Academy is now eligible for the state tennis tournament to be held later this month. Templar netters win region ST. GEORG- E- The Manti High School Tennis team are champions of the Region 10 Tennis Tournament with a total of 44 points followed by Pineview with 38. North Sanpete and Richfield tied at 18 points. Moab had 13; Cedar City 10; Dixie, 9; Delta, 5; and Juab and South Sevier four points each. Philip I)oh Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry (Vicki) Johnson was chosen as the 1985 youth representative from Fountain Green's Cub Scout Pack. He met the qualifications required by the National Council and not only excells in Cubs but also in school activities, community and family affairs. He will compete with other scouts for a visit from President Reagan. 4-- Thirteen members of the North Sanpete Chapter Future Farmers of America competed in the state judging contests May 8 and 9 at Utah Statate University. Scores have not yet been announced. Livestock team members are Jack Blackham, Ty Tidwell and Wade Eliason. Dairy: Eric Olsen, Randall Shelley, Jeff Shelley.
