Show Page Twelve Pyramid Recreation Issue May 23, 198-- Snows Activity Center is place for fun times The Snow College Activity Center in Ephraim is the center of many fun things to do all year long. The Center is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and opens from noon until 10 p.m. on Saturday. The Center is closed on Sundays. If youre looking for fun recreational activities, you will enjoy taking your entire family to the Activity Center where they can enjoy swimming, racquetball, hand ball, indoor and outdoor tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton, softball and baseball. Snow theatre to present summer play If you're visiting in Sanpete County between June 18 through July 31 plan to attend the Snow of presentation College Somethings Afoot in the Snow College Auditorium. The show will be presented under the direction of Richard Haslam, a veteran producer of plays and musicals at Snow College. Preformances will be open to the public and also to youth groups who visit the campus during the Roller skating is another fun activity that can be enjoyed on Mondays and Fridays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guys and gals wanting to strengthen muscles or lose weight can visit the weight room in the Activity Center which is also open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Snow College also rents outdoor equipment. If youre in town and want to do some bike riding, the Activity Center can rent you a bike. Also available are canoes, kayaks, coolers, tents and the things you will need for a camping trip in the nearby mountains. Or, if youre a resident and want to take the family on an outing but are not yet ready to make the big investment into camping gear, the equipment is available to rent. Skis are also available for winter Lyndon Graham carves alabaster Taj Mahal which will be on display along with more of Grahams carv- ings through mid June at Nielsons IGA in Fairview. Graham, also has the carvings on display at his home where the public is invited to view them, This scale model is a replica of the Queen of Englands carriage. Designed from plans of the actual carriage, the carving is one of many completed by Utah artist Lyndon Graham of Fairview. fun. Other activities around the Snow Campus this summer include the Miss Ephraim Pageant on June 9 at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. College Oak Creek Down the road a few miles toward Fairview the little community of Oak Creek is nestled in a narrower section of the valley. During the year many travelers have enjoyed stopping in to see the Graham display and also enjoy a friendly chat with Lyndon and his lovely wife, Lila. The Taj Mahal structure, done of rose alabaster is just one of many such pieces done by the talented wood and stone carver, painter, and furniture builder.
