financially the dancers seemed to enjoy immensely dancing the old time dances and mingling in the old time spirit after the ball about 15 persons were invited to the spacious new home of mr and mrs B T alvord where supper was served mrs alvord and mrs 11 M figgins presiding at the table the evening was made merry until that tired reeling feeling compelled a halt and the guests went home to rest the first ward gave a social in the ward hall tuesday evening n which aich was a most mose delightful affair and was handled fix an excellent manner inner there were in the neighborhood ot of people present and every one was entertained in fix a loyal manner the game of the evening which created the most iun fun was a buical game slips slip of piper paper containing halt half a line of a popular song were passed around and the groups were then assembled in the order of the sentiment of the alic song and each group sang its half line to be followed immediately by the next group so that the melody would be carried through without a break no end of amusement aniu was caused cause and some stunning effects in vocal music revealed leve aled delicious refreshments consisting of ice fee cream Dewoy Dewe ville and mrs S drake ot of dear bear river canyon mr jr morris is one ot of the he early settlers of this state and was a famous indian tighter fighter having passed through the black hawk and salmon river wars and was wounded oun ded twice ile he was with general burton when black hawk was shot the wound which claimed his life a few days later mr morris was the first mail carrier 1 be e tween ephraim and salt lake city and had many thrilling experiences while engaged in that perilous occupy tion ile he has served as city marshal ot of rexburg 17 years been county sheriff and Is an all around frontiersman the gentleman lias has been trou brou bled with asthma for many years and an during his urlet stay in this city I 1 said he felt better than he had tor for a long time declaring our climate better than any lie he had ever lived in in his life last thursday evening miss aliss sarah josephson entertained a i number of her friends friend at a delightful social at her home on north main street the rooms were prettily decorated in green and white and the evening was spent in playing games and music delicious refreshments were served and each one present had a jolly partaken partaker par taken of to the accompaniment of pleasant conversation after which an enjoyable social evening was spent the company was delightfully entertained by mrs ITS bell who played a san francisco tuesday morning early coming via portland on account of the floods in nevada 2 mrs ITS kaiser came home on the overland limited which left the oakland mole 24 hours later than the regular passenger which mr and mrs ITS C IV knudson came homo on and both trains traveled the same route yet the limited got into brigham one ne hour ahead ot of the other making up 25 hours on the
