Show THE M 1 A CONCERT judging irom from the many compliments since the presentation and the generous applause while it was in progress the concert given by the four city ward choirs under the direction of the af 1 I A and library at the opera house last saturday evening was a success in every sense of the word A and ild the singers were certainly entitled to success for they worked hard for nearly five weeks practicing the cho rouses and other numbers which were given drooks brooks orchestra cli estra comes in tor for a good deal of credit also for the splendid support it gaie gae the singers and the most masterful rendition of the two selections it played the singers were arranged in elevated tiers on the stage and the ladies were all dressed in white with tile the gentlemen iu in black with white collars and black ties the picture those eighty y singers presented ted as they stood ready for the first number when the curtain went up at a few minutes past was indeed gorgeous and elicited rounds of applause from the audience the color of the picture was heightened by a border of beautiful potted plants which had been arranged along tile the foot lights by the young ladies giving to the entire scene a freshness and cheerfulness which might otherwise have been absent the program consisted of sixteen numbers divided into two parts the first number was stephens gospel restoration by the choir with mrs lottle lottie cozier singing the solo part and the piece was rendered in splendid style revealing the fact that brigham city can boast of considerable talent in a musical way each of the choruses in fact were rendered in a very creditable manner and the music was something more than ordinary in its nature A detailed of each number can hardly be given there were so many but it can truthfully be said that the concert was a decided success and the library netted something like SO 80 from the evening |
