I have a feeling that our team is going to go very far! 1 was trying to think of some way to make the weeks activities seem more interesting, but I couldnt think of anything, so I will just tell you what they are. Wednesday is the first House and Senate meeting. Thursday our cross country team goes to Weber and our golf and volleyball teams go to Roy. The girls tennis team goes to Clearfield. Good luck to all these teams. Friday should be a good day at LHS. Friday night, we have our first season game at home. We play Weber, and after the Lancers gain another victory, the PTSA is putting on a stomp in the gym. Heres a reminder to the guys, Homecoming is just a week away. If you dont have a date, you better hurry. If youre a girl and you dont have a date, better start planning a reject party. Well, every week I am going to try and give an inspirational thought at the end of the column. Lancer leaders attend confab LAYTON Five Layton High School student leaders had the opportunity this summer to attend a National Leadership Training Center program in Lake Tahoe, Nev. The senior officers, committee, and student body officers have some great activities planned, so every one participate and have fun. Well, thats all for this week. Be sure to watch for next weeks article which Im sure will be just as exciting as this one was. Falcon Forum By CHAD McBRIDE Four minutes and twenty-nin- e seconds ago I sat thinking of what I could say about our great sports team. Their performance this past week was more than commendable, more than spectacular, it was awesome. Our football team was victorious over a powerful Wildcat team from Woods Cross. Each player deserves a hand in helping the Falcons to a romp. Our Lady Falcons made a great showing in the round robin play bn inthe first day of the CHS-LHvitational. The team blocked and spiked their way to victory in three 14-- 0 S very tough matches. Tooele, Ogden and Bear River were all pinned under Falcon claws. Clearfields other sports team also made impressive turnouts. The golf team is experiencing a rebuilding year, but they looked improved in their first dual match against Bonneville High School. The marvelous girls tennis team is looking toward a great year with a tough loss, but a promising per- formance against Bonneville. I think all of our players are super and deserve no less than a chauffer driven limousine for transportation purposes. This week we are celebrating Homecoming with many planned events. The major party starts Thursday at dark with a night rally and bonfire. Friday the parade starts at 6 p.m. and the game against Roy High School starts at 7:30. We hope that student body and community will support us this week as well as they did last week. If they do, this week promises to be the best week yet. Now we are all 30 seconds older, 30 seconds wiser and 30 seconds more aware of what we can do this week, and I just broke the five minute column. ..Salutations and so long.
