Show SEPTEMBER 16, 1986 BERNICE POTTER JUST cant get gymnastics out of her system. After teaching it for 46 years to the public, shes now taught her grandchildren the ropes. The eight students competed in nine gymnastic meets during this past season. They are now preparing for state competition. Their success is a tribute to their teacher, Bernice P. Potter and to their dedication to achieve in this competitive sport. Student accomplishments in allround performance plus 1st, 2nd and 3rd places are as follows: Shaundeen Potter, three 1st place; six 2nd places; five 3rd places; one first place in all around, one 2nd place in all around and two 3rd places in all around. She qualifies for state competition. Jeness Morgan, one 3rd place, one 4th place plus many ribbins for 5th through 10th places; Tammy Potter, one 2nd place, one 3rd place, one 3rd place for all around plus many 4ths through 10th place ribbons. Janaye Udy, two 1st Layton pool now open LAYTON The new Surf N Swim pool in Layton is officially opened although the complete project is not yet completed. Swimming pool hours are from 8 p.m. on week days and from noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays. The pool is closed Sundays. When the bubble covering is put onto place, these hours will expand 3-- Je-ne- ss and the pool will be used year around. Receives his Eagle award Chris T. Twitty, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Twitty, was awarded the Eagle rank at a Court of Honor Aug. 17. He was a member of Troop 283, sponsored by the Farmington 7th Ward. He and his family lived at Mesa, Ariz. prior to coming to Farmington. They have since returned to Mesa. This past year Chris attended Farmington Jr. High. While in Mesa before then, he was a member of the National Honor Society, won the Optimist Oratorical Contest, was a Rhodes Scholar, played the French horn Music will be by the Washington Terrace Senior Band from p.m. All persons 40 years and older are welcome.
