HE WAS born Jan. 8, 1899 in Kaysville, a son of John G.M. and Miriam MacPherson Barnes. II, 1985 Issue No. 31 292-036- 7. He married Rebecca Pelton Sept. 8, 1923 in Salt Lake City. She died in 1972. He married Verle Dotson June 28, 1975 in Long Beach, Calif. She died in 1978. He was a naval officer. HE WAS reared in Kaysville. He had spent four years in Annapolis, Md. , while attending the U.S. Naval Academy. He had lived in Salt Lake City from 1930-4- 0 and in California for the past 44 years. He graduated from Davis High School and the U.S. Naval Academy, and had a masters degree in electrical engineering. HE WAS a member of the LDS Church where he was a High Priest. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Toastmasters. HE SERVED in World War I and II. Surviving are three sons, Richard P. Barnes, Bountiful; John G. M. Barnes, West Covina, Calif.; Pete M. Barnes, Sunland, Calif.; and three grandchildren. ALSO surviving is one brother. Dr. D. Keith Barnes, Kaysville. Graveside services were held al the Kaysville City Cemetery with Bishop Harold Gailey officiating. Military honors were accorded by the American Legion Honoi Guard. |
