Bakersfield. Calif, formerly of Kaysville, died Saturday. July b. 1985 in a Bakersfield hospital of heart failure. SHE WAS born June 21, 1902, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, a daughter of George W. and Nettie Jane Barber Wilcox. She married Glenn A. Curtis June 18, 1923. He died Dec. 11, 1969. SHE HAD been a secretary and was part owner of a real estate company in Bakersfield. She had lived in Canada for one year, then moved to Kaysville for 20 years and had spent the last 60 ears in the Los area. Angeles-Bakersfiel- d SHE GRADUATED from Davis High School and LDS Business College. She was a member of the LDS Church. SHE HAD been in many business and professional women's clubs. She had also been in various civic activities. Barber, Bountiful, currently serving an LDS Mission with her husband in Chile. She was preceded in death by a son. Recognized Clyde F. Marx, O.D. of Layton, has received the American Optometric Association's 1985 Optometric Recognition Award. THE AWARD is given to doctors of optometry who have completed 150 credit hours of continuing education in their field over a three-yea- r period. Only 899 of the nation's 22,500 practicing optometrists have earned the Optometric Recognition award. In presenting the awards, Albert A. Bucar, president of the American Optometric Association said your efforts to pursue continuing education reflect your deep desire to provide your patients with the best vision care available today. FUNERAL services were held Thursday at the Lindquists Kaysville Mortuary, with Bishop L.D. Covington of the Kaysville 2nd Ward officiating. Family prayer was by G. Linn Sandall; prelude and postlude, George Rytting; invocation, Melvin A. Jensen; speaker, Oma E. Wilcox; medley, Sarah Wilcdx Thomson; benediction, Karen B. Cook. DEDICATION of the grave was by Bishop Sherman L. Butters with interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were JDee Robins, George R. Heywood, Nohl Sandall.
