There were many activities during this week which advertised foreign languages. There w as a poster contest for each language. There were awards and prizes given to the w in several categories. These categories included neatness, art work, creativity, vocational, mes3-- sage and information. THE NEED to be able to speak another language besides English is growing more important here The need is demonstrated in business affairs, industry, diplomacy and face to face confrontations with people from other countries. Being able to speak a second language increases employment opportunities and helps you understand other countries cultures. Open House Set For 80th Date In celebration of her 80th birth- day, Mrs. Lila Lutz, Ogden, of Clinton, will be honored with an open house on Sunday, Kaysville Clubs for-mer- April 14. THE EVENT, which will be hosted by her family, will be held from 2:30-5:3- 0 p.m. at her home. Mrs. Lutz was born April 12, 1905, the daughter of William A. and Jeanettie Lance Johnson, Neelev. Ida. SHE GRADUATED Mrs. Sharron Lindgreen will entertain the Belle Lettres Club at her home on Tuesday, April 16. Mrs. Jan Barker and Mrs. LaRee Anderson will be assisting hostesses. It is their Mother-Daughtnight. The program will be given by Mrs. Ann Benson. The Kaysville Art Club luncheon will be held in Salt Lake City on Monday, April 15. Following the luncheon the group will travel to the University of Utah to visit the University ofUtah Traveling Exhibit with sculptures by Henry Moore. Mrs. Alice Telford, president is in charge. This is their closing social for the season. Members of the Bay View Club will meet Wednesday, April 28 in Salt Lake City at the home of Mrs. Doris Sill. The program will be given by Mrs. Alice Evans on composer Tchaikovsky. np er no-ho- st from St. Anthony High School in St. Anthony, Ida. and on Sept. 2, 1923 married A. Laurence Lutz. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mrs. l.utz has been an active member and served in many positions in the LDS Church in wards and stakes w herever she lived. She has also been active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers and held various positions in several camps and on three county boards in Idaho and Utah. She has been a legal secretary. AFTER HER marriage she lived in Salem. Hibbard and Edmunds. In 1941 the Lutz family moved to Ogden from Idaho. She is the mother of seven children, L. EIRoy Lutz, Roy; Mrs. George (Donna) Cleveland, Scottsdale, Ariz.: Mrs. Max (Vella) Hayes and Mrs. Owen (Joyce) Gar-licboth of Ogden; Nolan J Lutz, Weston, Ida.; Mrs. Ronald (Marva) Sharp, Bountiful and Blair W. Chris' project is entitled Windmill Design and Operation" and represents many months of experimentation and data collection. Christopher, a senior at Davis High, is graduating with high honors this year. He is ranked fourth in a class ol 440 students and has already been accepted for Honors at Entrance from the University of Utah. He is also a finalist for the $7000 Presidential Scholarship. Chris is intending to pursue a career in a science related Held, probably physics or engineering. Delivers First Babv anniversary. A lady was frantically waving to have him stop, and informed him that her Rhonda Bebe of Evanston, Wyo., was having a baby and needed help. OFFICER Burner checked her pains, grabbed his OB kit and called the Weber County Paramedics on the radio. As the baby was being Gentile, Layton. Mrs. Romney was born April 14, fourth of nine children, to Leonard Alison Hill and Mabel Moriah Haskell Hill. SHE MARRIED Frank Romney Aug. 14, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. She and her husband were temple workers for 17 years, seven at the Salt Lake Temple and 10 at the Ogden Temple. 1895, the Bountiful and born, the Weber County para- medics arrived to assist with the birth, which Officer Burner was most grateful for. A 6 lb. 4 oz. girl was born at 10:05. OFFICER Burner said the baby was breathing fine, had good color, no complications and doing fine. She was taken to the McKay-De- e Hospital in Ogden. Officer Burner said it was a good experience, but he would not prefer to go into that business.
