Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 3 in the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Dennis Brown of the Layton 18th LDS Ward officiating. Ralph West; Youll Never e, Edward Francis Taylor, 66, of Melody, Layton, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 1984 in the LDS Hospital, in Salt Lake City of complications following surgery. 250 HE WAS born July 12, 1918 in Salt Lake City, a son of Robert W. and Hannah (Lynn) M. Wright Taylor. On Jan. 15, 1942 he married Rozelda West in Salt Lake City. HE HAD been employed at Hill Air Force Base as a production controller for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He was reared in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School. He attended U.S. Air Force mechanics school in Dallas, Tex. and Long Beach, Calif. by Lynne and Walk Alone Michael Criddle; remarks, Bishop Dennis Brown; speaker, Bryce Allred; tribute to father, Cheryl Taylor and Rosanne Taylor Hwang; "O My Papa by Lynne and Michael Criddle; benediction. Dale West. Dedication of the grave was by Earl R. Groneman Jr. with inter- ment in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Flowers were cared for by the Layton 18th Ward Relief Society. Alvin Joseph Gibbons Alvin Joseph Gibbons, 60, of S., Clearfield, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 1984 at Sheep Creek Boat Docks in Daggett County of a heart condition. 1146 E. 1050 HE WORKED at Hill Air Force Base for 35 years as a dispatcher supervisor for Base Operations. He lived in Clearfield the past 30 years. HE GRADUATED from Kamas, Utah High School. He was a member of the Clearfield 2nd LDS Ward. HE WAS a veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force during World War II, He received the Silver Star. Surviving are his widow of Clearfield; two sons and two daughters, Greg Gibbons and Mrs. Don (Marsha) Carios, both of Sunset; Kenneth Gibbons, Clearfield; Mrs. Blaine (Ramona) But-tarWeston, Ida.; 10 grandchil- s, dren. are his father of Bountiful, and one brother, Leland O. Gibbons, ALSO SURVIVING Bountiful. He was preceded in death by one son. FUNERAL services were held at Lindquists Clearfield Mortuary. Bishop Ramon Warner of the Clearfield 2nd Ward officiated at funeral services. Dedication of the grave was by Gregory O. Gibbons with interment in the Clearfield City Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the American Legion. Flowers were cared for by the Clearfield 2nd Ward Relief Society. r, TWO ACCIDENTS occurred on Sept. 18. Sgt. David Helquist investigated an automobile accident at the intersection of 100 North and 200 East in which two persons were injured. Alice S. Allen of 40 N. 300 E., Kaysville was hit by a vehicle driven by Trevor A. Hoskins of accident. Farmington. DRIVER Hoskins was traveling southbound on 200 E. when he failed to yield the right of way at 100 N. intersection. Upon entering the intersection, Hoskins was struck broadside by the Allen vehicle traveling eastbound on 100 N. Upon impact, the Hoskins vehicle overturned completely traveling in a southerly direction coming to a rest on its side. Both Mrs. Allen and Hoskins received injuries and were treated at the scene by the paramedics and latertaken to Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful. IN ANOTHER accident Cassie O. Curfew of Clearfield hit a telephone pole at 50 E. 200 N. hear the west side of Bowmans Market and the Kaysville City Post office. Patrolman Paul Miya investigated the accident.. Mrs. Curfew told the officer she had left work at Clover Club Foods and was westbound when the accident occurred. Her vehicle left the roadway and was stradling the curb, continued westbound and struck the telephone pole between the market and the post office. After impact the vehicle continued stradling the curb for about 40 feet before returning to the roadway. The vehicle traveled 139 feet before coming to a stop. Mrs. Hiro Miya, 89, of 110 N. 3050 E., Layton, died Monday, Oct. 1, 1984 at a Clearfield nursing home. SHE WAS born July 1, 1895 in Shizuoka, Ken, Japan, a daughter of Y onekichi and Shimizu-Sh- i, Take Miyagishima Miyagishima. She married Terumasa Y.K. Miya on Jan. 15, 1917 in Japan. He died April 6, 1980. SHE CAME to the Layton and Syracuse area in 1937. She and her husband operated a farm. She was a member of the Ogden 200 North. two vehicles, on the cornet LT. PAUL Miya and Ron Barton made an arrest of a 17 year old male on Sept. 22 for criminal mischief. The youth drove in circles on the grass of the baseball field at Davis High School. Kelly G. Hansen of Syracuse and Alice Eugenia Gill of 40 W. 600 N., Kaysville, were involved in an accident on Sept. 24 with Sgt. David Helquist investigating. THE ACCIDENT occurred on the northwest corner of the parking lot of Harrys Thriftway Market. Driver Hansen operating a pickup truck was backing in a northerly direction from a parking stall at the parking lot. Driver Gill was traveling east through the parking lot in his vehicle. As Hansen backed out, he collided with the Gill vehicle. Detective Mike Lee was on hand Sept. 25 to investigate an auto accident which involved Lee M. Smith of 427 E. Pin Oak, Kaysville and Annie Lee Combs of Payson. SMITH said she was west bound on 200 N. near 100 E. when the driver Coombs made a left hand turn into her vehicle. Coombs received minor chest and leg injuries. The paramedics responded to the scene and administered treatment and she was taken to the Humana Davis North hospital. TUESDAY, Sept. 25, two vehicles were involved in an accident at 800 East 200 North Street at 2:30 Officer was p.m. Investigating Gary McFarland. Michael J. Howard of 946 E. 300 North, Kaysville was attempting a left turn, while waiting for the flow of traffic to pass, when he was hit from the rear of his vehicle with a car driven by Jill Peterson of 1646 DRIVER of the westbound vehicle on 2nd North was Angela I of Layton. Mr, Steuri was a member of the 129th class of the college which was founded in 1948. Class members were from 12 Western states and three Candian provinces. COMPLETING the intensified course in auctioneering, real estate, sales management, livestock, marketing and public speaking has certified him to conduct auction sales. Mr. Steuri is affiliated with Century 21 Barlow Realty and Insurance, Layton. He is a member of the Utah and National Associations of Auctioneers. In addition Mr. Steuri is active in the Ogden Board of Realtors as well as the Utah and National Association of Realtors, Graduate Realtor Institute, American Red Cross, Rocky Mountain Rescue Dogs and numer ous other community and church organizations. Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Lindquist Colonial Chapel in Ogden with Rev. Malcolm T. Toriumi officiating. JANE Berger, a handwriting analyst from Ogden was the special guest speaker for the evening. Hostesses for the evening were the new club officers. Chappell of 332 N , 650 E. , Kaysville, vehicle passed and was hit causing vehicle damage. Police Chief Lyle Larkins investigated the accident. PATROLMAN Harold Burner investigated an accident in which HE WAS born April 28, 1924, in Bingham, Utah, a son of J. Owen and Erma Hailstrom Gibbons.
