RENEWALS p Lindsay, executive secretary to the Council said a cooperative program has been undertaken with the Extension Service of Utah State University and others to bring to the attention of the public the urgency to conserve all water possible. Even said, Lindsay though it hasnt been the practice of some companies to fill reservoirs at this time of year, the Council is urging those who have storage water rights to to immediately begin impound as much water as possible in order to build up storage capacity for future use. With advice from the USU Emergency Drouth Committee, the Council is encouraging those farmers who have access to small streams of water running past fields to irrigate now to wet ground that is extremely dry. Plants like alfalfa can easily be killed when watered during severely cold weather, but March is nearly here, so use wisdom. Grass pasture and ground plowed or ready to be plowed can use the water with little hazard. Most soil can hold a lot of water in the ground, but this is where water is really short. As of Feb. 7, the Central Utah area has of the received only 39 normal precipitation this water year. There appears to be little prospect for the Cecil Fisher was visited by Neil Roberts and his famly ofS.L.C. of good natural build-umoisture normally ground expected by spring. Experts agree that there much chance of is not sufficient moisture getting rather serious to avoid drouth conditions during the growing season this coming year.
