She was born July 20, 1881, in Provo, a daughter of Franklin and Christina McDaniel Carter. She married Thomas W. Gammon on Nov. 18, 1897, in Provo, and he died July 28, 1951. She received her education in the Provo schools and worked in the Knight Wollen Mills in Provo. She was also a nurse. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist.
